Monkeypod Jam Holiday Open House at the new Lawai Store

Paul and I are on our way down to the Holiday Open House for Monkeypod Jam's new store (2-3687 Kaumualii Hwy, Lawai, HI 96765) in Lawai. One of my favorite flavors is the lilikoi (passion fruit) curd. Lilikoi fruit can be difficult to procure, which can result in a shortage of this exotic flavored curd.

Rob and Aletha, the owners of Monkeypod Jam, asked if we could help them plant lilikoi vines at Hole in the Mountain Farm to ensure a more consistent supply. We thought we could help with the problem of lilikoi shortage by growing some lilikoi vines on our 37 acres, our Hole in the Mountain Farm in Moloaa, home to Kauai Sugarloaf Pineapple. The vines are doing pretty good and we look forward to the day when our next jar of Monkeypod Jam lilikoi curd comes from the lilikoi grown at Hole in the Mountain Farm.

We already supply Monkeypod Jam with the now-famous Kauai Sugarloaf White Pineapple for some of their specialty jams including a white pineapple jam and a white pineapple ginger jam. If you haven't tried these, treat yourself to some great island flavors and check them out. Monkeypod Jam uses only fruit grown on Kauai therefore their selection of jams and curds is dictated by seasonal availability. I can assure you that all their selections taste great as I've had the pleasure of sampling most of them.

If you're on Kauai, you too can sample any of the Monkeypod Jam selections at their table at both the Saturday Kauai Farm Bureau Market at the Kauai Community College Farmers Market between 9:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. and at the Kukuiula Gourmet Culinary Market on Wednesday afternoon from 3:30pm to 6:00pm at The Shops at Kukuiula in Poipu.  We are at both these markets (details) so you can also sample Kauai Sugarloaf Pineapple at our table.

Of course, wherever you are, you can buy Monkeypod jam online as well as Kauai Sugarloaf Pineapple online right here.

Place your holiday orders early

With the year end holidays approaching we have plenty of Kauaʻi Sugarloaf Pineapple ripening in time for what we expect to be our biggest harvest ever. It is best to place your holiday orders early (now would be good) and in the special instructions box on the shopping cart checkout page tell me you want delivery for the holidays.  This is the same box where, if you have purchased a card, you type your personalized message.  Don't worry, I will know which is the message for the gift card and which is the delivery date request.  We are a small company with a really dedicated team of great workers and while itʻs always a little challenging to predict exactly how much fruit will ripen over the holiday season I can assure you we will do our best to fulfill all our orders in a timely manner.

I am not a very creative person, but last year I was in dire need of a Christmas card and I was trying really hard to get my husband Paul and I in the same place, not to mention with some semblance of Christmas attire, as opposed to our usual red-dirt attire, and then coordinating that with a friend nearby to take a picture (I don't do selfies) was near impossible.  I had all of these santa hats as Christmas decorations in my house and I had this moment of creative genius.  I took them out and put them on our pineapples.  Voilà!  What was really rather amazing is I accidentally saved it with some retro color theme giving the card the look of my childhood photos. And so this year we have a holiday-themed personalized card

Please purchase this card or our standard card with your order if you want to include a personalized greeting with your holiday gift.

Happy Holidays to one and all.

Great market at The Shops at Kukuiʻula

This market is a joint venture between The Shops at Kukuiʻula and Kauai Farm Bureau
Jude at Kukui'ula market

Its a really fun gourmet market with lots of samples, and variety, food demonstrations and an outside bar. We had plenty of samples of Sugarloaf Pineapple and sold out by about 5pm.

A little boy, maybe 7 yrs old,  begrudgingly took a sample and after tasting it exclaimed, "Oh my God, that's delicious!"

Free Drawing for a Kauaʻi Sugarloaf Pineapple

I'll be attending the Kauaʻi Community College farmer's market in Puhi tomorrow Saturday, June 29. It starts at 9:30am. There is going to be a free drawing and some lucky winner will take home a gigantic Kauaʻi Sugarloaf Pineapple (pictured below). Please come early if you want to buy one of my extra sweet, field ripened Kauaʻi Sugarloaf White Pineapple because I will only have a few this week. I only pick what's absolutely perfectly ripe for your enjoyment and mother nature limited my choices for market.

As always, I will have lots of free samples available for you to taste.
